The banker directory
Back to the guide
Data in the sidebar. A sourcing database of US lower middle market investment bankers, pulled from external directories and cross-referenced so you can see which firms look like genuine sell-side advisors.
This is not a place to type bankers in by hand. Everything here arrives from a source fetch. There is no create, no edit and no delete.
How it differs from your CRM
The directory is shared reference data, not your firm's private records. The same catalogue of firms and people is there for everyone.
Your CRM is yours. Exporting a banker into the CRM makes a copy in your firm's records and nowhere else. See Exporting to CRM or CSV.
The page
Three collapsible sections. Data sources is open by default; Firms and Contacts start collapsed.
- Data sources — the directories you can pull from
- Firms — company records, mostly SEC-registered broker-dealers
- Contacts — named people with emails, phones and credentials, mostly from IBBA
Firms
The table shows name, city, state, CIK, whether it is already in your CRM, and its LMM status.
LMM status is set by fetches, not by you:
| Unconfirmed | The default after an SEC pull, because the SEC list is every registered broker-dealer |
| LMM confirmed | The name matched a firm in Axial's Top 25 league tables |
| Excluded | Exists in the data, but there is no way to set it from the screen yet |
So "unconfirmed" means nothing has corroborated it, not that it was rejected. Most firms sit there.
Filter by state — All states, plus the states with the most records. A CSV download follows whatever filter is active.
Paging — 50 rows a page, with Previous and Next. The state and page are in the address, so a view can be bookmarked.
In CRM badge links to the matching CRM record.
Contacts
Name, company, city and state, email, phone, whether they are in your CRM, and credential badges such as CBI or M&AMI.
A contact is linked to a firm only when the company name matches unambiguously. Many brokers in these directories are not SEC-registered broker-dealers, so plenty have no firm attached. That is expected, not a fault.
Paging is 50 a page. There is no state filter on contacts, unlike firms.
